Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) sits right on Simpson Bay, which puts La Sucrière's waterfront maison a few minutes from the terminal. That makes us the natural first stop after landing — or the last one before you fly, when a box of pastries makes a better souvenir than anything in duty-free. Crews and frequent flyers have known this route for years.

What to order for SXM Airport

Arriving: coffee and something warm for the drive to your hotel or villa. Departing: a boxed half-dozen croissants travels surprisingly well in a carry-on, and a baguette sandwich beats anything airside.

Good to know

How close is La Sucrière to SXM airport?
A few minutes by car. The airport sits on Simpson Bay, and our original Waterfront maison is nearby at Welfare Road #130, Cole Bay. Our second maison is in Philipsburg's old town, on Old Street off Front Street.
Is it worth leaving the airport on a layover?
On a longer layover, yes — Simpson Bay is close enough for a real French breakfast and a look at the lagoon. Leave a generous buffer to clear security again, and check your airline's guidance for minimum connection times.
Can pastries go in a carry-on?
Yes — boxed croissants and viennoiserie travel well in hand luggage. Avoid anything with cream or custard that needs refrigeration, and eat baguettes the same day for the best crust.
